Liverpool stars Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have signed new contract for extended stay and reaction from Trent Alexander-Arnold sparks speculations.

The longstanding fear of the Kopites of losing their best and beloved players have finally been majorly defused thanks to the proactiveness of the LFC officials.

The contract extension announcement of talisman Mohamed Salah was made public on April 11 and it provided the much needed satisfaction to the fans who had been devastated due to the consecutive defeats in the UCL and the Carabao Cup.

Within seven days of this delightful update, the Merseysiders, through their official website and social media handles, announced that captain Van Dijk will be leading the club for another two years.

The English fullback liked the Instagram post confirming shared by the Reds skipper his Anfield stay and it has left everyone speculating whether Trent has had a change of heart.

Alexander-Arnold is the only Red whose contract renewal is awaiting and he will most likely move out this summer on a free transfer.

European rivals Real Madrid are heavily linked with the Englishman’s move and multiple reports of him joining Los Blancos substantiate this rumour.

The 26-year-old is at the crossroads of his career.

He has the opportunity to be a legend at Merseyside but also the lure of joining the Madrid side comprising Galacticos.

However, the Scouser would be stripped off of his legend status if he chooses to join the leading Champions League winners.

The local lad might not be willing to sacrifice his current icon status and future legend status at the same time.

Rising through the club’s youth ranks, Trent has amassed 349 appearances for the senior squad of his boyhood club, bagging 22 goals and 90 assists so far (stats via Transfermarkt).

On a much positive note, he might return in action in the match against Leicester City on Sunday.
